2009 TWINS Update....Summer on the Tennessee

We've just reached 1500 miles on our travels and taken a break at Goose Pond Colony on the TN River, Mm 378. We're home now for a week to celebrate the real twins birthdays on June 8th. ......Pizza in the new wood fired oven!

The boat wintered well for 6 months at Aqua Yacht Harbor in Mississippi. We rejoined her last month and had new props put on, cleaned the bottom and provided a good cleaning. We also enjoyed some local sights including the Shiloh National Military Park and the Tennessee River Museum.

Our trip up the TN River started with a one mile trip to a local dock at the top of the Tenn Tom waterway. Nice spot to hang out for the weekend! Then we headed out another 5 miles to Panther Bay Mm 218.7 for a couple of peaceful days. A long trip down to Mm 230 then on to Joe Wheeler state park for Memorial Day weekend at Second Creek Mm 278.

Matt and Sonja came down for a couple of days and we were able to shuffle our car from Aqua to Goose Pond, as well as upgrade our ride for the trip home. After they left we moved up the river slowly with stays at the Elk River Mm285 and Bishop Mtn, 350 and Honeycomb Creek behind Goat Island at 352.

A quick night at our new slip at Goose Pond on Guntersville Lake.
We're housed at the shoreside of Dock 3, Slip 0. $176/month plus electric.

Our trip home included an hour and a half in Louisville in the middle of the very busy freeway.........ran out of fuel.........welcome back in the ratrace!
