Summer Heat

Here it is June and we're steaming hot, wondering what July and August will bring.
Upper 90's expected today ... busy area with a Scottish Festival and Bass Tournament across the street.

We had a nice birthday for the real Twins, Ben and Mia T. The new wood fired oven performed very well...just need to make bigger pizzas.

We have now relocated our Land Yacht to Goose Pond since Sara and Matthew are expected here for the 4th of July Holiday. We have a spot in the campground and will set it up toward the end of the month. In the meantime, we are taking some nice excursions into the mountains to the east of us.

We did a circut this week in the Born Free. Over to the biggest attraction in Alabama, the Noccula Falls Park. Walked behing the waterfall. Then up the mountain north to the Little River Canyon. Spent time swimming in the river above the falls before driving back down the scenic drive along the canyon. On up the Lookout Mountain Parkway to DeSoto State Park where we camped for the night. Awake for a hike in the Park, then on to DeSoto Falls, site of the first hydroelectric plant in N AL. On up to Cloudland National Park in Georga where we camped for the second night after a long hike down to the two waterfalls in this canyon, some 1200 feet down. All in all a nice couple of days along Lookout Mountain.

Next week we expect to head down the mountain range to another state park for a couple of days.

Was going to do some repairs to our water system but the engine room is 88degrees at 8 in the morning....hot, hot, hot....and humid too!

Looking forward to some more cool clear water in July when we head up the TN again.
